Here are some of the ways that you can use Gizmo5 with your Asterisk PBX today:

Configure your Asterisk PBX to send outgoing calls to the Gizmo5 network. This will allow you to make free calls to Gizmo5 users, and to all of the University networks that we are peered with. You might also choose to route calls to the PSTN through the Gizmo5 network. This would allow you to take advantage of the cheap rates provided by Gizmo Call Out, instead of paying the high rates of your local telephone company.
Configure your Asterisk PBX to receive incoming calls from the Gizmo5 network. This will allow people with Gizmo5 Accounts to call you for free. It also allows you to take advantage of Gizmo5 Call In. By using a Gizmo Project Call In number to receive calls, you can effectively get a regular phone number for a mere 12.00 a month!
Configure your Asterisk PBX to use the Gizmo5 softphone as a phone extension. This will allow you to send and receive office calls using a free software phone, instead of needing to purchase expensive hardware for each person that you want to give a phone extension to. It also allows people to send and receive office calls, even when they are away from the office (like on a business trip). It also has the added benefit of allowing people to use the Gizmo5 softphone's many cool features, like call recording, sound blasts, and an online call history.
