 Login Presence and Silent Login
Solution Silent Login
If user has Options->General->AutoLogin set 'on', then Gizmo5 will NOT display the login dialog when starting up. Additionally, if user last exited with Gizmo5 visible on the desktop, Gizmo5 will display the main window after authentication is done. If user last exited with Gizmo5 minimized in the systray, then Gizmo5 will completely login in the minimized state. These changes eliminate the 'in-your-face' login that many of our users have complained about. Additionally, Gizmo5 should no longer 'steal focus' when it first launches.

User-selectable Login Presence
By default, when a user logins in, their presence is set to Available and all his/her contacts will see them come on line as Available. This feature permits a user to select which presence to use as their initial presence. Choices include Available, Away, Do Not Disturb and Invisible. Gizmo5 will recall the users presence from the previous logout and set that as the selected Presence in the Presence ComboBox. Note that if the user has AutoLogin enable, s/he will not have the option to change this since login will begin immediately. (See "Always Login with Presence..." below.)

Always Login With Presence...
This feature may be enabled from the Options->General screen. It permits a user to select the default Presence s/he desires for login, and it can be used with or without AutoLogin enabled. If this option is enabled, it will override the last used Presence when setting the selection in the ''User-Selectable Login Presence" combobox (above). Choices are Available, Away, Do Not Disturb and Invisible. (The same choices as User-selectable Login Presence).Once enabled, this will stay in effect until user changes it, or disables this option.

The default Login Presence is determined as follows:
  1. If user has done nothing, Login Presence will be users Presence when s/he last logged out (not including custom presence).
  2. If user has 'Always Login With Presence...' enabled, that will be used as the Login Presence.
  3. If AutoLogin is disabled, user will have option to override the selected Login Presence (the Login window will be visible)
  4. If AutoLogin is enabled, user will NOT have an option to override the selected Login Presence. This is because we now have Silent login and the login window will not be displayed.

Tip: Invisible means that a user can log in to Gizmo5, but s/he will appear 'off-line' to all their contacts.
Once login is complete, user can manually change their presence with the Presence ComboBox at bottom of main screen as always.
